ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Samos. Valerian I, 253-260. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 26 mm, 7.54 g, 6 h). ΑΥΡΤ Κ ΠΟ ΛΙΚΙ ΟNΑΛЄΡΙΑΝΟC (sic!) Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian I to right, seen from behind. Rev. CAMIΩΝ Warrior (Ankaios?) advancing right, head to left, with his left foot on small prow, extending his right hand and holding shield in his left. BMC -. SNG Copenhagen -. SNG Leypold -. SNG von Aulock -. Extremely rare. Minor scratches and very light doubling on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
